DIspersed Immigration Officers having a vigil at the gate of the state house

The #NigeriaImmigration2000  whose training was suspended shortly after President Buhari assumed office last year, have decided to relocate from their houses to the gate of the state house until their demands are fully met by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

March to the Villa Speech by Aisha Yesufu

Mr President,

Before you today are the officers and men of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) from across the country who were recruited in May 2015.

After the botched NIS recruitment of 2014 which claimed the lives of some applicants, the Federal Government decided to do an open and transparent recruitment based on merit and following laid down procedure.

An address delivered by Aisha Yesufu to the secretary to the Government of the Federation

An address delivered by Aisha Yesufu to the secretary to the government of the federation, at the second #nigeriaimmigration2000 march held on the 16th of august 2016.

The SGF, Members of the press, Ladies and Gentlemen. Today, we have yet again and unfortunately so, embarked on another peaceful march to the office of the SGF because our demands have not only remained unmet but also because it appears the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has now made herculean demands for the reinstatement of the #NigeriaImmigration2000.

The Diary of An Immigration Officer (Pt.3- The new Sheriff)

If you missed out on previous stories read Prologue and Part 1 and Part 2
It's almost a year since #NigeriaImmigration2000 were ousted out of service. Within this period, the service have had three Comptroller Generals. The first, CGIS David Parradang was suspended indefinitely, giving room for the dispersal of #NigeriaImmigration2000. He was replaced by CGIS Martin Abeshi.

My Immigration Story

Success they say is when hard work meets with opportunity, 20:35pm on the 20th of may, 2015 proved that statement true as my joy knew no bounds, I ran all over the house jumping and I even rolled on the floor outside, I worshipped the almighty because miraculously I had just received a mail from PCAIR(Presidential Committee to Assist in immigration Recruitment) that I have been shortlisted for employment into the Nigerian Immigration Service.

The Diary of An Immigration Officer (Pt.2- Conspiracies, Lies and Deceptions)

Taking into consideration the recruitment that birthed #NigeriaImmigration2000, it was not surprising to find out that the POWERS THAT BE at the Ministry of Interior would stop at nothing until these young and vibrant recruits are schemed out of the service. But someone would constitute a stumbling block to this scheme; CGIS David Shikfu Parradang.

The Diary of an Immigration Officer (Pt.1- Genesis)

Our recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration service has recently generated a lot of heat but regrettable no light. There has been a stifling power tussle among the stakeholders and the victims, sadly have continued to be the Nigerian youths, a clear and not too remote example is the 2014 recruitment stampede.

What is Still Keeping #NigeriaImmigration2000 at Home?

It is barely three weeks to the first anniversary of the famous suspension of two thousand Nigeria youths from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for offence that is not theirs in all honesty (as both parties; NIS and #NigeriaImmigration2000 had testified that it is not the fault of the two thousand youths from their previous presentations both on dailies and other media outlets).
Let's start with this offence that has kept these two thousand able-bodied and vibrant Nigeria youths at home for almost a year without any serious hope of going back to work soon.

My Immigration Story - Dispersed Recruit

After passing out from the mandatory National youth Service it dawned on me that my University education didn't quite prepare me for the harsh realities of the real world, after I flunked my first job aptitude test I realised that I needed to be schooled in the 'Art of getting a job', I invested in Gmat materials, read online articles and watched videos on YouTube. fast forward to 2014, I was no longer in the Labour market, I had gotten a Job and moved out of my family house, the institution I worked for provided an accommodation for me,  I wasn't where I wanted to be yet but I was sure far away from where I started.

The Diary of an Immigration Officer (Prologue)

“Why don’t you want to give Nigeria Immigration Recruitment a try?” asked my friend with curiosity. “Nigeria Immigration job is that type of job you require a god-father to secure and I heard you have to pay to get it…..” I replied sluggishly. Don’t try to blame me, I wasn’t talking based on rumours, but from established facts of the 2013 and 2014 failed recruitment exercises. I heard a ‘still small voice’ deep within me saying, nothing is impossible with God. I know what just crossed your minds, and it is a capital YES from me; I am the religious type. With faith in God and free internet connection at my disposal, I applied for the 2015 Nigerian Immigration Service recruitment as advertised. That was the Monday, 9th day of March 2015. That was the beginning of my trials as a victim of #NigeriaImmigration2000.

Sola Omorilewa: Their sacrifices should not be in vain

Burial of a recruit who died during Induction in Benue State Command

There is no doubt that the wind of change is presently blowing across Nigeria in all sectors. This demands some applause from Nigerians to the present administration. It has consumed some but I think "a person who doesn't carry evil medicine should not be afraid of the rain". The war on corruption and impunity is now a daily occurrence on both print and electronic media.

Working together for a better Nigeria; the case of #Nigimmigration2000

Nigerians alone can make Nigeria great again. It can be achieved by all the classes that make up  Nigeria coming and working together with one aim. It shouldn't be "the rich" dictating and "the poor" compromising. It should be the rich setting examples and the poor following the examples. If the poor are  always at the receiving end; it would get to a point where the feud between the rich and the poor would be so tensed that each class would be hunting the other class. We shouldn't be paying only lip-service to things that concern Nigeria, we should be passionate about this Country.

LOYALTY REDEFINED: A Dispersed Officer Shares His Story

As more days are going by and we are yet to be recalled, so is idleness on the increase and temptation ever lurking. The more we are left at home and ignored like our recruitment never happened the more danger we expose our dearly beloved country to without knowing or maybe pretending not to know.
This is a story shared by one of us, read it below.

THE NIS SAGA : Are the youths the element or victim of change?

The dispersal of 2000 officers that were recently recruited into the Nigerian Immigration service has shown to the world what Nigerian politics is about, promise everything during campaign and deliver nothing when sworn into office. No wonder Ronald Reagan described government as a baby-a long alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other. There were many campaign promises made to the Nigerian youths: employment, empowerment and integration into the Nigerian economy.
