Working together for a better Nigeria; the case of #Nigimmigration2000

Nigerians alone can make Nigeria great again. It can be achieved by all the classes that make up  Nigeria coming and working together with one aim. It shouldn't be "the rich" dictating and "the poor" compromising. It should be the rich setting examples and the poor following the examples. If the poor are  always at the receiving end; it would get to a point where the feud between the rich and the poor would be so tensed that each class would be hunting the other class. We shouldn't be paying only lip-service to things that concern Nigeria, we should be passionate about this Country.

To an average Nigerian politician, everything is politics even the lives of his countrymen, to the elder statesman, the leaders; they forget that Nigeria is a continuous process and will in future have other Nigerians at the helm of affairs, they would do everything to thwart the growth of the younger generation believing Nigeria is a dynasty that their children and wards will always take over. To the poor, they are fed-up with the entity called Nigeria, they are so frustrated and miserable because they are the ones bearing the brunt of the whole scenario.

Let's take a look at the case of #NigeriaImmgration2000. Before May 2015 there was  nothing like #NigeriaImmigration2000. These 2000 youths were at their various homes managing what life offered them. The only crime they committed was applying and eventually getting the job in Nigeria Immigration Service after going through the rigorous process set out by the Presidential Committee that organized the recruitment. They also obeyed the constituted authority at their various training school when a particular cadre was not given Appointment Letters while other cadres were given theirs but were instructed to proceed to their various Command to start induction program. Out of joy, many resigned from their previous work, some entrepreneurs sold their machines and shops that they had been earning their living from, business men/women among them left their businesses and others abandoned their school believing they  would continue later because they are passionate and wanted to obey the NATIONAL CALL.

In the course of their training, they were not paid, no accommodation, they were buying handouts, built benches and tables, bought markers for their induction course. Remember these fellows were trained on arms (different types of rifles) just like every other security personnel you see out there. They perfectly learnt everything because of their enthusiasm, no wonder it has been rumoured that they are being enticed by an unknown organization after their dispersal but they stood firm because of their love for their fatherland.

On 20th August 2015, the board that sees to Immigration in the Ministry of Interior gave birth to #NigeriaImmigragion2000 by signing the  circular that led to the dispersal of these youths, their plights after dispersal has and will continue to be highlighted in this blog until justice is served. The good thing about these youths worthy of emulation is their patience, well-mannered approach, their perseverance and resilience in their quest to be reinstated into the Nigeria Immigration Service.
Now, it is obvious that these youths are suffering this because they are not connected to the first-class citizens of the country because while this issue is still unresolved, there was a "slot-sharing recruitment" into the  Nigeria Immigration Service and while #NigeriaImmigration2000 were on induction, there was news also of an underground recruitment in Nigeria Prison Service (NPS) in the same ministry with NIS and there was  no advert placed to the  notice of the public, and people absorbed in that recruitment had started work without hitch.

Help lend a voice to this injustice, we cannot be training armed-men to be on our streets. These youths should be at their workplace not roaming the streets, spread the message of this injustice; #NigeriaImmigration2000 have to be reinstated. It could be anyone of us,  besides, if there would be any consequences from the way these youths are being handled, we Nigerians would suffer it.
My little contribution to a better Nigeria
