Mr President,

Before you today are the officers and men of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) from across the country who were recruited in May 2015.

After the botched NIS recruitment of 2014 which claimed the lives of some applicants, the Federal Government decided to do an open and transparent recruitment based on merit and following laid down procedure.

The SGF, Members of the press, Ladies and Gentlemen. Today, we have yet again and unfortunately so, embarked on another peaceful march to the office of the SGF because our demands have not only remained unmet but also because it appears the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has now made herculean demands for the reinstatement of the #NigeriaImmigration2000.

It's almost a year since #NigeriaImmigration2000 were ousted out of service. Within this period, the service have had three Comptroller Generals. The first, CGIS David Parradang was suspended indefinitely, giving room for the dispersal of #NigeriaImmigration2000. He was replaced by CGIS Martin Abeshi.

It is barely three weeks to the first anniversary of the famous suspension of two thousand Nigeria youths from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for offence that is not theirs in all honesty (as both parties; NIS and #NigeriaImmigration2000 had testified that it is not the fault of the two thousand youths from their previous presentations both on dailies and other media outlets).
Let's start with this offence that has kept these two thousand able-bodied and vibrant Nigeria youths at home for almost a year without any serious hope of going back to work soon.

After passing out from the mandatory National youth Service it dawned on me that my University education didn't quite prepare me for the harsh realities of the real world, after I flunked my first job aptitude test I realised that I needed to be schooled in the 'Art of getting a job', I invested in Gmat materials, read online articles and watched videos on YouTube. fast forward to 2014, I was no longer in the Labour market, I had gotten a Job and moved out of my family house, the institution I worked for provided an accommodation for me,  I wasn't where I wanted to be yet but I was sure far away from where I started.

“Why don’t you want to give Nigeria Immigration Recruitment a try?” asked my friend with curiosity. “Nigeria Immigration job is that type of job you require a god-father to secure and I heard you have to pay to get it…..” I replied sluggishly. Don’t try to blame me, I wasn’t talking based on rumours, but from established facts of the 2013 and 2014 failed recruitment exercises. I heard a ‘still small voice’ deep within me saying, nothing is impossible with God. I know what just crossed your minds, and it is a capital YES from me; I am the religious type. With faith in God and free internet connection at my disposal, I applied for the 2015 Nigerian Immigration Service recruitment as advertised. That was the Monday, 9th day of March 2015. That was the beginning of my trials as a victim of #NigeriaImmigration2000.
